The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots will square off in Super Bowl LII. Here are the betting odds and more for the “Big Game.”

It all comes down to one Sunday in the Twin Cities. For the second time, the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots will square off in a Super Bowl. Back in 2004, head coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady were at the helm for a 24-21 victory over Andy Reid’s Birds in Jacksonville. By the way, it was wide receiver Deion Branch who was named Super Bowl XXXIX that day.

This time around, Belichick and Brady are back again. But this bunch of Birds is led by second-year sideline leader Doug Pederson and super sub Nick Foles at quarterback. Will they fare better than the combination of Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb did 13 years ago in the Sunshine State?

So who wins and by how much? That’s the point here and as we know, there will be more than a few nickels and dimes slapped down when it comes to the latest edition of this championship series.

First things first. Here are the betting odds to know with regards to Super Bowl LII:

Super Bowl LII odds

Point Spread: Patriots (-5)

Moneylines: Eagles +165, Patriots -190

Over/Under: 48

According to OddsShark, the Patriots are 5-point favorites to knock off the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Super Sunday. Of course, past history tells us that if Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are headed to the Super Bowl together, it’s going to be a very close game.

As many know, the Pats came away with three-point wins in Super Bowls XXXVI (20-17 over the Rams), XXXVIII (32-29 over the Panthers) and XXXIX (24-21 over the Eagles). Then there were those narrow losses to the New York Giants in XLII (17-14) and XLVI (21-17). But then we saw a 28-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks (XLIX) and an epic 34-28 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons (LI). All told, each of New England’s last seven Super Bowl appearances have been decided by six points or less, four of those games by exactly three points.

More from New England Patriots

In terms of the number, not only are the Eagles and Patriots each a combined 15-3 outright this season (including playoffs) but both clubs finished 12-6 against the spread this season. As for the over/under, New England (458) and Philadelphia (457) finished second and third, respectively, in the NFL in scoring in 2017.

What about those prop bets? The fine folks at OddsShark has all the skinny on this as well and putting down some cash on who will be the game’s MVP is always a fun exercise. As for the numbers in this regard, Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady (-125) is the heavy favorite. That’s not a surprise considering he’s earned the honor four times previously.

Elsewhere, Eagles’ signal-caller Nick Foles (+325) is your second-best bet and Pats’ tight end Rob Gronkowski (+850) stands third. Elsewhere, New England’s Dion Lewis and Danny Amendola and Philadelphia’s Jay Ajayi and Zach Ertz all sit at +1,800.

As for Brady and Foles, a quarterback has been named Super Bowl MVP on 28 occasions. In the case of “Gronk” and Ertz, you could also be talking a little history. In 51 previous Super Bowls, a tight end has never been named the contest’s Most Valuable Player.
