Premier League matchweek 25: Staff picks and predictions
By Staff
The FanSided soccer staff make their predictions for the weekend’s Premier League games, including Tottenham vs. Manchester United at Wembley.
After a weekend of FA Cup action, the Premier League returns for a round of midweek games, the highlight of which comes at Wembley on Wednesday, when fifth-place Tottenham face second-place Manchester United.
Spurs are coming off a disappointing pair of results, drawing with Southampton in the league and League Two Newport County in the Cup. They had to come from a goal down in both games, and now have a Cup replay to clog up an already crowded fixture list.
United had a significantly easier time of things in the Cup, also against lower league opposition, beating Yeovil Town 4-0 on Friday night. Alexis Sanchez was impressive on his debut, playing a part in two goals. Tottenham, of course, should prove tougher opposition.
While both teams possess immense quality, Jose Mourinho’s track-record in encounters against other big six sides suggests we may be in for a low-scoring game. Still, Tottenham will be desperate for points as they chase the top four, and an early goal could make for a fun match.
The other standout fixtures of matchweek 25 see Liverpool travel to Huddersfield looking to get back on track after two losses in a row, and Swansea, who handed the Reds one of those losses, host an Arsenal side likely to feature new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Tottenham vs. United is too close to call for most of our writers. Six of them opted for a score draw, while one thinks United will pull of a victory away from home. Here’s how the predictions table stands heading into the midweek matches:
