This will be Donald Trump’s first “official” State of the Union Address; he previously spoke in front of a joint session of Congress on Feb. 28, 2017 but that was not formally considered as such since he had only been President for a few weeks when the speech was delivered. Tradition states that the SOTU isn’t delivered until the President’s second year in office, so this will be the first time we will see President Trump formally fill Congress, and the country, in on the progress of the United States.
