I love when Alex Trebek makes Jeopardy contestants feel bad and when all three contestants blanked on a football category, the host let them have it.
The best part about Jeopardy, outside of pretending we’re smart for a half an hour, is when Alex Trebek offers a condescending reply when someone chimes in with a wrong answer. But when the entire panel is not only wrong about one of the clues but an entire category, Trebek flexes on the whole crew and makes them feel inferior.
With the Super Bowl on Sunday, one of the categories on Jeopardy was football. Now, for me, that’s the type of category that I can dominate and feel smart for a few minutes as I watch from my couch. And I have never felt so good about my football knowledge than after watching the trio of contestants space on some of the more basic football terminology and history.
None of the contestants knew what an option play was, none of them knew Tom Landry coached the Dallas Cowboys, a fair catch was a foreign subject, none knew what offsetting penalties were and they failed to put respect on the famed Purple People Eaters.
I was completely embarrassed for these three contestants, who are no doubt geniuses in their field and could smoke me and you in basically every other category, that isn’t related to sports, but see for yourself and you’ll get the picture.
These Jeopardy! contestants know absolutely NOTHING about football and Alex Trebek let 'em have it 😂 pic.twitter.com/Ng5g0asg71

This is why Trebek gets paid the big bucks so he can stunt on these fools when they aren’t so smart as they think they are. It makes us common folk feel a little bit better about our own brain power.

I hate to bash on these mopes anymore than I already have, and I’m sure they are all nice and swell people, but would someone sit them down and watch a football game? How about a Football for Dummies book to get the basic terminology down?
