More from DraftKings

There are only three games in the Euro League today, but we have some of the bigger starts in great situations. Where is the value to stack the guards again since Real Madrid was in action yesterday? Let’s try to find it!

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from!

HOUSTON, TX – DECEMBER 22: Alexey Shved #88 of the Houston Rockets waits on the court during their game against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Toyota Center on December 22, 2014 in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Scott Halleran/Getty Images)

Guards:

It comes down to Nick Calathes or Alexey Shved to build around today. If you get really creative, you may be able to put both in the lineup. Calathes put up 38.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting against Bamberg. Shved put up 33 against Unicaja. Neither are a bad option. Both will be highly owned.

I do like Taylor Rochestie, but to me, it’s too big of a step down. With Nedovic out, Ray McCallum will get more of a run. McCallum has 47.25 DraftKings points over the last two games. This is not a great matchup against Khimki, but if he plays enough, McCallum could be worth your while.

The middle tier doesn’t have many, if any, good options. I do like the way that James Anderson has played lately. Both he and Stefan Markovic have been playing a lot and playing well lately. They are both priced well, and have a great matchup against Unicaja. How paranoid are you about using multiple Khimki guards?

Dylan Ennis put up 21 points, eight rebounds, and five assists against Olympiacos last round. Now the kicker: he did it in just 17 minutes! This performance should earn Ennis more run, but there is risk attaches here since he likely still wont start.

Maodo Lo has put up 45.75 DraftKings points over the last two rounds. He is cheap, and he is playing more than 20 minutes per game lately. Lo is a good option in the cheaper tier. Alberto Diaz is also someone to consider here. He benefitted the most from the absence of Nedovic last round. Well, besides McCallum.

NEW YORK, NY – DECEMBER 03: Tornike Shengelia #20 of the Brookly(Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images)

Forwards:

Tornike Shengelia is the clear best option at forward. However, at this price, I would rather load up on Shved and Calathes. Shengelia isn’t even averaging 30 DraftKings points per game in January.

Chris Singleton had a big game against Bamberg in the first meeting, but he has underachieved the last couple of rounds. dropping to Tyler Honeycutt doesn’t make a lot of sense at this point right now either. Same goes for Malcolm Thomas. Guards are dominating for Khimki right now. Both Singleton and Honeycutt are risky.

James Augustine tore apart Khimki in the first meeting, but Augustine has been below 20 minutes in each of the last two rounds. In this tier I would much prefer Anthony Gill. K.C. Rivers is a decent option because he is playing around 30 minutes per game. The production isn’t always there though.

Adam Waczynski is playing well lately, and has topped 20 minutes in each of the last two games. That makes Waczynski a safer value play. The only other safe option in the value tier is Johannes Voigtmann. Waczynski’s teammate Giorgi Shermadini is a solid value pick as well. These two are the reason that Augustine is playing less and less lately.

If you are looking for a total dart throw, Alen Omic is your man. He picked up 15 DraftKings points in his first Euro League contest. There is risk here, but you could also be getting in on the ground floor of a great play.
