38. . G. Oklahoma. Trae Young. 3. player

The Magic seem ready to move on from former lottery pick Elfrid Payton, and Young could not be a more perfect reversal for the perpetually rebuilding squad.

Young has refused to fade through the course of the NCAA season, seemingly getting better as the year goes on. After dazzling shooting and scoring performances throughout December (sorry Horned Frogs), the freshman has revamped his game on the fly. These days, Young is taking advantage of the spacing and pace that his teammates are able to play with and the Sooners continue to win.

His numbers and highlight package — 29.6 points and 9.6 assists, along with destructive games on a nightly basis — will excite the Orlando fanbase, and he could completely  alter the trajectory of their team. To this point, the Magic have looked disjointed and unfortunate in their rebuild. Draft picks have flamed out, coaches fired, and lotteries lost.

Young, along with Jonathan Isaac and Aaron Gordon, would represent a versatile young core that better aligns with the direction of the league.
