Arsenal have only won once in their previous five Premier League matches. Their last match on Tuesday may have been their lowest point on the season, as they lost to Swansea, 3-1. Nothing went right for the Gunners on the day. It’s looking more likely by the day that Arsene Wenger’s club won’t make the top four for the second straight year. They signed Dourtmund striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, but that won’t help shore up their paper-thin defense and lack of strength in the middle of the pitch. Their only hope for the rest of the season seems to be a run in the Europa League, but it’s tough to see them do so in this run of form.
Everton are in their own free fall. Prior to their win against against Leicester midweek, Sam Allardyce’s squad were on a three-match losing streak and hadn’t won in five. In fact, Everton hadn’t won since a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions when Allardyce first took over. Their goals have completely dried up and they are hardly even creating chances. Everton get to face Arsenal in their worst stretch run, however. It’s possible they turn things around and avenge an earlier 5-2 drubbing away from home.
