The Indianapolis Colts are mourning a great loss on Sunday morning, after news broke that linebacker Edwin Jackson was reportedly killed by a drunk driver.
There is no great tragedy than the loss of life, especially in the case of a young person in the prime of life. On Sunday morning, the news broke that Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson was killed in an auto accident on Interstate 70, reportedly struck by a drunk driver.
Jackson, 26, was one of two people killed in the crash, with the other being Jeffrey Monroe. Monroe was 54 years old. The suspect is Alex Cabrera Gonsales, a 37-year-old who after the accident, tried to escape the police by running. He was arrested and taken into custody shortly thereafter. Per the Indy Star:
"“It is believed Gonsales was intoxicated and was driving without a license,” Perrine said in a statement. “He was transported to the Marion County Jail, the result of the test for intoxication is pending.”"
At the time of impact, both Jackson and Monroe were standing outside of a vehicle when Cabrera’s Ford truck hit them.

Last year, the youngster was placed on Injured Reserve on Sept. 2.
