Here’s another reason why it may be better to watch the Super Bowl from your own home (or somebody else’s).
It has long been a foregone conclusion that prices for traditional staples at the Super Bowl will require you to take out a mortgage on your home.
In Minneapolis, the site of Super Bowl LII, the locals who have lucked out in getting a ticket are experiencing this price shock first hand. Now, Minnesotans are not used to giving up their children for adoption just to chug a beer or eat at a game, but this is the Super Bowl, and it’s changing the perspective of the drink cost at sporting events for locals.

Will Brinson, a Senior NFL writer for CBS Sports, was walking around U.S. Bank Stadium before the big game to tour the stadium’s concession stands, and his observation of the prices may be just as entertaining as the game itself.
Take drinks for example.m At one concession stand, they’re offering a cocktail called “House Divided” that may split up marriages when one gets a look at the price of the cocktail.
$35. And they’re advertising that price with pride.

Oh, that’s not the only budget-killing drink on the menu at the stadium. If you want “J-Tea,” which was named after the halftime performer, Justin Timberlake, that’ll set you back $35 as well.
Feel ripped off yet? Wait, there’s more!

At another concession stand, Blue Moon Back Cheese Curds will set you back $19 and 20 years of good health. Heck, if you’re ready to ruin your New Year’s Day resolution in one sitting, just go to McDonald’s and blow $19 on their brand new Dollar Menu. That will be a much worthwhile investment than those Bacon Cheese Curds, and will equally get you closer to God, literally.
Prices like these will have you counting your blessings that you’re watching the Super Bowl from the comfort of your couch, munching on all the 80-cent Grate Value chips your tummy can ingest.
