It’s a very special episode of This Is Us on Super Bowl Sunday as fans will finally get to see what happened the night that Jack Pearson died.
It’s the moment This Is Us fans have dreaded ever since learning Jack Pearson died. The Super Bowl Sunday episode will answer all of our questions about the night Jack died after a season spent teasing us with one clue after another.
The season 2 premiered with the end sequence revealing the Pearson home ruined after a fire. Jack was dead. We didn’t know what started the fire then as theories ran rampant from the new washing machine to a faulty fuse box. The two most recent episodes showed the Pearson’s forgetting to buy batteries during their trip to the mall and leaving the smoke detector empty and an old Crock-Pot having a faulty switch that sparked a fire in the kitchen.
The blaze quickly spread throughout the kitchen and into the living room and soon enough the Pearson home was engulfed in flames as the inferno broke out. Jack will not make it out alive, and tonight’s Super Bowl Sunday episode will reveal his final moments as he gets his family to safety after putting his life on the line.
This Is Us will begin shortly after the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
The projected start time is 10:15 p.m./7:15 p.m. PT.
If the game runs long, and I’d bet that it will, This Is Us will be pushed back as well.
