With the Winter Olympics in South Korea, it can be confusing trying to convert times to the USA. Here is how to do it.

Converting time from the east coast and west coast in the United States can be tricky, and with the Winter Olympics in South Korea, it can be even more troublesome.

For instance, South Korea and the United States aren’t always on the same day. So here is a quick guide to how far ahead South Korea is.

  • 14 hours ahead of Eastern Time
  • 15 hours ahead of Central Time
  • 16 hours ahead of Mountain Time
  • 17 hours ahead of Pacific Time

Think of this, when the Super Bowl was kicking off on Sunday, it was technically Monday in South Korea. Therefore, when an event kicks off in South Korea at the Winter Olympics, you need to subtract 14-17 hours based on where you live in the United States.

A 9 a.m. event in Korea Time, actually is a 7 p.m. ET event in the United States.

To try and make your life a little easier, here is a table that converts Korea time into the three major US timezones.
