LeBron James won’t waive his no-trade clause

CLEVELAND, OH - FEBRUARY 3: LeBron James

LeBron James basically holds the entire Cavaliers franchise in the palm of his hands. Even though the team is doing their “due dilligence” in preparation for the trade deadline, James says he’s not going anywhere.

The Cavaliers are in a total free fall right now, and they look really bad. They finished the month of January with a losing record, which almost never happens to a LeBron James led team, and they are currently tied for the No. 3 seed with the Washington Wizards.

The team clearly needs to make a deal at the trade deadline if they want to actually win the Eastern Conference for a fourth year in a row. That being said the relationship between team owner Dan Gilbert and James isn’t a very good one, and it could lead James to leave town once again at the end of the season. Of course Gilbert could try and beat James to the punch, and try to trade him at the deadline.

Cleveland fans can rejoice because James is determined to see this season through and will not waive his no-trade clause.

Cleveland residents can now breath a sigh of relief that the world’s greatest basketball player won’t let the teams owner make one of the five dumbest decisions in the history of the world.

James being committed to this team is a good sign, because it has to be hard to stay committed to a team that’s supposed to win the conference, but was just annihilated by the Houston Rockets on their home court.

The Cavaliers are going to definitely have to make a move or two at the deadline if this team is serious about competing for a NBA title. The roster they have now just isn’t going to cut it, and both James and Gilbert know that. With the trade deadline on Feb. 8 the Cavs are running out of time to make something happen.
