There are plenty of Nick Foles trade rumors to go around, and Jimmy Kimmel had some fun with them.
When Nick Foles hoisted the Lombardi Trophy over his head after Super Bowl 52, it was one of the most unexpected football images ever seen. Carson Wentz tearing his ACL in Week 13 was something that should have ended the Eagles hopes of winning a Super Bowl.
Instead, the man who had been cast away so many years ago returned to deliver on the promise he sought out on in 2013.
Wentz is the future in Philly, but Foles is the man of the hour. His teammates didn’t hesitate to get in formation behind him — or next to him on the famed “Philly Special”. Because of that play, and the fact that Wentz isn’t going to get usurped by Foles, trade rumors are swirling about who will deal for the Super Bowl MVP.
Right now, no one in Philly wants Foles gone (which is a stark contrast to the first time he was there). Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about the Super Bowl and ended up on the wrong side of a throwaway joke about a fictional Foles trade.
Kimmel followed up a long story of praise for Foles by telling the two running backs that Foles had been traded an hour before the show.
They both took the bait.
Trading Foles is probably something Philly will take a pass on unless someone offers the moon. He’s the man of the hour and will likely be the Week 1 starter if Wentz isn’t healthy. There’s a good chance that happens since rushing Wentz back from an ACL tear he suffered in December makes little sense when Foles can clearly captain the ship.

Still, you have to learn to laugh at life or you won’t have any fun. You’d expect as much from a team that punked the hell out of the Patriots on national television in Super Bowl.
