Manchester United takes a decisive two goal lead after a generous call

There appears to be a pattern when it comes to refereeing errors over the last matchweek, which is an unusual number of generously given penalties. Not saying there was any coordinated effort, but the men in black were extremely trigger happy when it came to pointing to the penalty spot.

The latest example comes from Old Trafford, where the home side benefited from a generous penalty call, which put the game out of reach.

To be clear, this is the least controversial of the four penalty calls examined here, but you have to wonder if referee Stuart Atwell points to the spot had the play happened at the other end of the field and the offended party was, say, Aaron Moy, taking a less graceful and slightly worse timed dive than that of Alexis Sanchez, the most recent glamorous arrival at Old Trafford.
