The money line last night held stable again at 258 DraftKings points. That is six straight days with the money line falling between 253 and 265 points. Both my lineups were very different, but they finished with almost identical point totals of 276.75 and 277.75. I hit on the value of Josh Hart and Randle in both lineups.
The winning lineup was even down a bit to 335 points. He had the huge value of Johnathon Simmons to go with the core of Lowry, Capela, and Paul George.

Point Guards:
Best Bets:
Jrue Holiday ($7,500): I was going to avoid this situation, but if Indiana is short at guard again – both Collison and Oladipo are listed as questionable – I really like this for Holiday. He lit up Utah for 42.75 DraftKings points on Monday, and the insertion of Mirotic hasn’t altered his production much. Holiday is still the only threat from the guard positions, so he is a solid play most nights.
Goran Dragic ($7,100): Once again, the top of the position is littered with injured players and bad matchups. I don’t particularly like this matchup for Dragic either, but we can’t ignore how well he has played lately. Dragic has topped 5x value in three of the last four games. He is a better bet to hit value than Paul.
Honorable Mention:
Ricky Rubio ($6,700): it’s not a stretch to say that Rubio might be playing the best basketball of his NBA career right now. Rubio has four straight games of more than 40 DraftKings points and six straight with at least 5x value. Agianst a Memphis team that really only has Harrison and Chalmers at the point, I love this matchup for Rubio as well. Don’t be surprised if he outscored everyone not named Harden eligible at PG tonight.
Isaiah Thomas ($6,000): Thomas must think it’s his birthday or something. The NBA schedule has given him a gift. Last night Thomas got the Magic, the second worst team in the league defending the point. Tonight he gets Minnesota, who just escaped the bottom five less than a week ago. Not so much as a product of their play, but of others getting worse. Thomas has another great matchup and the price is right. Just be on the lookout in case the Cavs decide to limit his minutes in a back to back situation.
Jeff Teague ($5,700): I like the other side of this matchup as well if you are in the market for lower ownership. The Cavs are mostly allergic to defense. The Magic guards still had a good night despite being dominated by LeBron and J.R. The same will go for Teague and company. Cleveland may be playing better, but that mostly just applies to the offense.
Dark Horses:
Andrew Harrison ($5,000): I like Harrison a lot less with him playing the point against Rubio instead of feasting on Hood or Mitchell. That said, Harrison has had at least 5x value in every game without Tyreke Evans on the court. I see no reason for that to stop. Harrison is a solid player, but he wont get a whole lot above value, especially in a matchup like this.
Cory Joseph ($4,600): Joseph struggled against the Washington backups on Monday, but he could get another crack at this thing if Collison sits again. If he does, a starting spot against the Pelicans is a great spot for him to reward those of us willing to give him another chance.
My pick: Rubio(PG); Thomas(PG), Teague(G)
Shooting Guards:
Best Bets:
James Harden ($11,300): Harden didn’t produce Beard-like numbers against Cleveland or in the first matchup with Miami, but the fact remains that he is one of the few that is a threat to top 60 on any given night. You have to pay for that kind of potential. We saw Harden get back on track against the Nets last night, but his production is still hindered some by the presence of Chris Paul.
Jimmy Butler ($9,500): Butler laid 51.5 DraftKings points on the Cavs in the first meeting. He also had his first game of over 50 DraftKings points since his return against the Pelicans on Saturday. It seems as though Butler is back in the swing of things. This is a great matchup for Butler, as you can see by his first appearance against the Cavs. He may even be a little more stable than Harden tonight, but he doesn’t have near the ceiling that Beard does.
Honorable Mention:
Donovan Mitchell ($7,000): Utah limited Mitchell’s minutes on Monday. Some of that had to do with the rest of the team being on fire, but I also think that his illness hadn’t entirely run its course. It should be gone now though, and he gets to take on a Memphis team that has been assaulted on the perimeter lately. This is a great matchup for Mitchell if he is fully healthy.
Lance Stephenson ($5,800): I like Lance against New Orleans even if Oladipo is back in the lineup, but he is a must-play option if Oladipo is out again. Stephenson racked up 29 DraftKings points on the Pelicans in a reserve role in the first meeting. There is huge potential here if he starts. Even if Stephenson comes off the bench, he is a decent value pick, albeit with little upside.
Dark Horses:
Rodney Hood ($4,900): Hood’s inconsistency is unsettling, but his ability to put up big numbers makes him in play most nights for GPP usage. I really like him here against a Memphis team that has struggled both offensively and defensively on the wings with Evans living in exile. The potential is here for Hood to put up big numbers again, especially if Mitchell remains limited.
Manu Ginobili ($4,000): Few can match Ginobili’s efficiency, even though he rarely plays more than 20 minutes anymore. Still, Ginobili scorched the Suns second unit for 33.75 DraftKings points in just 29 minutes in the first meeting. There is potential here, but very little upside. I prefer Manu in cash games, but he is a suitable way to save money in GPP formats as well with a matchup like this one.
My pick: Butler(SG), Ginobili(G), Hood(F); N/A
Small Forwards:
Best Bets:
T.J. Warren ($6,300): This is not a great matchup against the Spurs, but with Devin Booker still out, the offense has to come from somewhere. It will be a combination of Warren taking more shots and a roulette wheel of the young bigs that Phoenix has right now. Warren is probably the safest pick of the bench, though he will cost you a little more. It should be worth it in the end, especially with such a weak position. Just in case you’re wondering, the Timberwolves shut down LeBron in the first meeting, holding him to 30.25 DraftKings points.
Andrew Wiggins ($6,100): Wiggins performed well in his first game against the team that drafted him. Wiggins went for 35 DraftKings points in that game. I would guess that Minnesota would give him another chance to give it back to them here. Why not? Wiggins isn’t suitable for use every game anymore, but this is a good matchup here.
Honorable Mention:
Josh Jackson ($5,700): This is still a tough matchup, but Jackson just keeps putting up good numbers as a starter. For this price, there really isn’t any reason not to use him. With Booker out, Jackson and Warren are the main threats. Since I expect the Spurs to mostly key on Warren, that still leaves Jackson as a solid pick.
DeMarre Carroll ($5,500): Carroll is worth using in good matchups. Last night against Houston he scored 21 points. In the first matchup against Detroit, he went for 16 and 29.25 DraftKings points. That is a solid return on his modest investment, though Carroll doesn’t have much upside. That said, at a weak position tonight, you can do much worse.
Bojan Bogdanovic ($5,200): Bogdanovic had a big night with Oladipo and Collison both out on Monday. If both are out again tonight, he is worth a flier to see if he can do it again. If Collison plays and Oladipo is out, I would still consider him. However, if Oladipo is the one that plays, I want no part of this.
Dark Horses:
Stanley Johnson ($4,700): Since Johnson carried the team for a game after Harris was traded last week, he seems to have more confidence on the offensive end. Johnson’s upside is capped with the presence on Griffin and Drummond in the middle, but he has been a solid value pick lately. His lack of upside leaves him mostly for cash games though.
Justise Winslow ($4,100): The encouraging part here is that Winslow looked better with Whiteside on the court on Monday. The Heat seem committed to giving Winslow more minutes. His rebounding prowess gives him a solid floor. After all, he still put up 15 DraftKings points without scoring a single point against Detroit. Houston is tough up front, but Winslow still has solid potential here.
J.R. Smith ($3,800): The Cavs have been leaning on Smith for scoring help without Kevin Love with mostly positive results. The veteran spent the better part of the first three months of the season as an afterthought on the end of the bench, but shakeups to the rotation have led to Smith sticking. If he keeps scoring like his is, Smith’s minutes should be safe, even in a crowded backcourt situation.
My pick: Wiggins(SF); Smith(SG), Jackson(SF), Warren(UTIL)
Power Forwards:
Best Bets:
Blake Griffin ($9,000): Obviously, I like Drummond better against the Nets because they have been shredded by centers lately. However, stacking both Pistons bigs may not be a bad idea. Detroit doesn’t have a perimeter scorer, so most of the offense will go inside. The Pistons bigs led to a cashing lineup on Monday and should here as well considering the Nets are far worse on the interior than Portland is.
LaMarcus Aldridge ($8,400): The Suns are statistically the worst team in the league against power forwards. This looks like a great matchup for Aldridge. However, he only has 78.5 DraftKings points in two games against Phoenix this season. The potential is here, but LMA has not been the beast that most of us hoped with Kawhi on a second extended absence.
Honorable Mention:
Nikola Mirotic ($6,500): Mirotic was pushed around by the Jazz on Monday, which should help keep ownership down tonight. This is a much easier matchup for the Pelicans, and don’t expect Mirotic to take only eight shots again. He was brought here to help with the scoring, so expect his shots to be up tonight. He put up 27.25 DraftKings points in 25 minutes in the first meeting with the Pacers. Assuming that Mirotic plays 30-35 minutes again, he should have no issues hitting value tonight.
Taj Gibson ($5,400): Gibson was a load for the Cavs to handle in the first game, putting up 37.25 DraftKings points in that game. The going could be even easier for Gibson tonight considering that Kevin Love wont be in for the Cavs this time. This is shaping up as a night to use a Minnesota stack. The low price on Gibson can make that happen.
Derrick Favors ($5,400): Gasol is the only real defender that Memphis has right now, and he will be on Gobert. That could leave Favors to have a really good night. Favors has at least 20 DraftKings points in 10 of the last 11 games. Six of those have topped 30. There is solid potential here, but the caveat is that Memphis might get blown out again, limiting the upside of all Jazz players.
Dark Horses:
Anthony Tolliver ($4,300): Moving back to the bench hasn’t dimmed the outlook on Tolliver. He is still seeing around 25 minutes a game, and his efficiency has him topping 5x value regularly. As I mentioned earlier, the Brookyn frontcourt is sad. Tolliver has solid upside so long as Detroit is going to keep playing him like they are.
Luc Mbah a Moute ($4,000): The Rockets continued to run a tight rotation even with Eric Gordon back. Mbah a Moute is firmly planted in that, playing 37 minutes again last night. He has at least 5x value in all but one game with Ariza out. He has little upside with him being literally the last offensive option among the starters, but he does enough other things to keep him hitting value with regularity.
My pick: Gibson(PF); Favors(PF), Gibson(F)
Center:
Best Bets:
Anthony Davis ($11,600): Davis dominated the Pacers in the first meeting, going for 69 DraftKings points in that one. Davis is still getting very heavy usage despite the presence of Mirotic. That isn’t going to change, especially against a team like the Pacers without a dominant defensive presence in the middle. Turner and Sabonis can’t stop him. Look for another big night from the Brow.
Andre Drummond ($9,800): I love some A.D. tonight. Both of them. As much as I like Davis, Drummond could outscore him. That’s how elite this matchup is for Drummond. Every center since Allen took over for Tyler Zeller has had a minimum of 40 DraftKings points. None have been the caliber of Drummond. Remember the 71 he put up on Cleveland about a week ago? This could be another one of those nights for Drummond.
Honorable Mention:
Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,100): This is another elite matchup for the Timberwolves. I mentioned what Drummond did to the Love-less Cavs a week ago. Center since have treated Cleveland the same. Due to the other elite options on his slate, I see Towns having pretty low ownership. That said, with so many other options for the Timberwolves, he carries a lot more risk than the other two.
Hassan Whiteside ($7,700): On paper this is a poor matchup, but we saw Whiteside take advantage of Capela in the first meeting to the tune of 45.25 DraftKings points. Capela has statistically the better matchup, and could see a large spike in ownership with last night’s big line. However, he had only 29 DraftKings points in that first game. Going Whiteside over Capela could help give you an edge if you are playing a center from this tier.
Dark Horses:
Myles Turner ($5,600): Turner can’t defend, but he is a pretty big offensive presence. He put up 42.5 DraftKings points on Boogie in the first meeting. Turner has been very inconsistent this year, but this is a pretty solid matchup for him. His price makes him worth using as a bargain play inside if you are fading the stars here.
Jahlil Okafor ($3,500): The Nets are going to need Okafor to try and put up a fight against Drummond. Allen was pushed around by Capela last night, so Okafor ended up splitting minutes with him right down the middle. Both Okafor and Allen had solid nights, but Okafor’s numbers were a touch better, and he is a full $1,600 cheaper! Expect the same usage to play out tonight.
My pick: Drummond(C), Okafor(UTIL); Davis(C)
