It looked as if Josh McDaniels was going to be the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2018 NFL season, but he had a change of heart Tuesday.

The 2018 NFL season was supposed to be Josh McDaniels’ first as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, as he agreed to be their main man on Tuesday. However, McDaniels had a change of heart later in the day and has instead decided to stay with the New England Patriots as their offensive coordinator. McDaniels has won five Super Bowls during his time with the team, and apparently, wants to be there for their sixth.

Staying with the Patriots, it has been a rough couple of days for star tight end Rob Gronkowski. After losing the Super Bowl on Sunday, and questioning whether he will return in 2018, his house was burglarized on Tuesday. Gronkowski lives very close to Gillette Stadium, and upon returning from the Super Bowl, he dialed 911. The police have said items were stolen, but did not specify exactly what was taken.

The team that beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl was the Philadelphia Eagles, who defied all odds after star quarterback Carson Wentz was lost for the season back in Week 13. Just days after winning a Super Bowl ring, Wentz gave out a ring of his own, as he got engaged to girlfriend Madison Oberg. The happy couple began dating last year, and things have obviously been going well as they will now spend the rest of their lives together.

One of the more horrific injuries of the 2017 NFL season was when Ryan Shazier had to be carted off the field against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 4. There had been reports that he was able to walk on his own, which he denied on Tuesday. Shazier took to Twitter to confirm NBC’s Michelle Tafoya’s tweet that he was not walking on his own yet, so his journey back continues.

With the NFL Scouting Combine on the horizon, the list of participants was announced earlier this week. While the usual suspects are there, including Baker Mayfield and Josh Rosen, there were some big players left out this season. The combine is one of the key components of where these players usually end up via the NFL Draft, which kicks off in April with the Cleveland Browns selecting first overall for the second straight year.
