Olympics live stream: Watch mixed doubles curling USA vs. Canada online
By Staff
Here’s how you can watch Team USA take on Canada in mixed doubles Olympic curling round robin session.
Yes, it’s at 6 in the morning, but where is your sense of patriotism? In the second session of the mixed doubles round robin curling tournament, USA will take on Canada. Or more specifically, Hamilton siblings — Becca and Matt — will take on Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris.
Mixed doubles matches are approximately two hours and last eight “ends.” During the session, Finland will take on Switzerland, Korea will match up against China and the Olympic Athletes of Russia will face Norway. NBC offers streams of all matches, including USA-CAN.
Neither the USA nor Canada are expected to place in mixed doubles — the favorites are China, Russia and Switzerland — but Canada is a perennial curling powerhouse and the Hamiltons qualified for not only the mixed doubles team, but also their respective men’s and women’s teams. It should be a good matchup and if nothing else, the friendly rivalry between the two North American countries should be a great way to start the Olympics.
Mixed doubles is a new Olympic event, having been approved by the IOC in June 2015. Like the men’s and women’s tournament, it’s structured as a round robin in which all eight countries play their seven competitors before the team’s with the four best records advance to the semi-finals, with a tie-breaker game being played if necessary.

Notably, NBC will air the full USA vs. Canada mixed doubles match live on TV too. The TV schedule is inscrutable — and kind of irrelevant if you’re a cord-cutter — but USA vs. CAN is one of few games their showing in full, in real time.
