2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
The Wizards have won five straight games without John Wall, and if they eventually consider moving him and his super-max contract like the Clippers just did with Blake Griffin, they may be able to find a replacement this year in Gilegeous-Alexander.
For the sake of disclosure, this is a complete joke. Winning five games without a good player does not indicate that player’s lack of value, especially when said team has been made better by said player throughout the entirety of the player’s career. Wall makes Washington better. He plays well in the playoffs and has the passing and scoring ceiling to play offensive games that few point guards in the league can match.
However, Washington needs a backup point guard regardless of its feelings about Wall. His absence has highlighted that just as much as it has highlighted the team’s ability to win without him.
Currently, the Wizards are starting Tomas Satoransky at point guard. They traded for former Pelican Tim Frazier over the summer. Neither is particularly intriguing on a playoff team.
Gilgeous-Alexander, on the other hand, is crafty and smart enough to give you confidence he could be a plus rotation piece in the NBA.
