2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
It’s not often a team gets to build from the bottom and top in, but Dallas could do that if they landed Jackson this year.
They actively changed their offensive style over the past several seasons, running more pick-and-roll and now slowly handing the steering wheel over to rookie Dennis Smith Jr. The freshman fits that system extremely well — you could easily imagine him on the receiving end of lobs from Smith for the foreseeable future.
Ignore what you see from Jackson on occasion this season. His best role offensively is as a finisher, not a creator. Though his package could eventually translate into more of a shooting role, his skill set does not project to do well in isolation situations like coach Tom Izzo sometimes allows.
You can’t fault Izzo for letting an athlete go to work. But Carlisle would do better.
