2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
Young is nightly must-see viewing at this point in the season, both because of his production and Oklahoma’s murderer’s row of opponents. He is handling it well, and each night reinforces that he could change the fortunes of a team like the Magic overnight.
Despite a loss to Texas over the weekend, Young showed some incredible signs of development. We’ve known his passing vision is an elite skill for quite some time, probably since the first time Oklahoma played TCU last November. But against the Sooners, he took it to the next level. Any time there was an inch of space to sneak a pass in transition, Young fit the ball through the defense.
He had a double-double early in the second half. It looked like as long as his teammates could run and make open shots, a victory was assured. Credit to Texas’ guards for leading a comeback despite Young’s performance.
The larger point here: when was the last time any Magic player made you feel like Young can? Sometimes it’s that simple. Bad teams need superstars, and there’s no one in sight at No. 4 who has the potential Young has.
