Taking a look at the date for National Signing Day 2019 and when the top high school recruits will decide where to play college football.
Coming into this past college football recruiting period, there was a lot of uncertainty about how things would play out. Perhaps one of the biggest concerns — especially in regards to media outlets — was that National Signing Day would ultimately be a bust. With the new early signing period, there seemed like there would be a chance that the normally eventful day would be a flop.
Luckily, however, that wasn’t the case. While there weren’t quite as many players committing on National Signing Day as normal, there was still plenty of drama. Many big-time players made their decisions and some of them shocking. There were big flips, big shocks and of course the drama and antics that have made the day such a spectacle.
Now the day has passed, though, and the 2019 college football recruiting trail will begin. As always, there are plenty of guys that you’ll need to keep an eye on. One of whom is the current top recruit in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Ishmael Sopsher. The Louisiana native defensive tackle looks like a stud.
While there could still be fewer recruits committing on National Signing Day than there have been in years past, we know now that there is still work that can be done even with the early signing period in the fold. Thus, there’s still reason for college football fans to be excited about the day. So then, that begs the question of when the day falls next year.
