What is mixed doubles? Well, it’s a new event in the 2018 Winter Olympics which consists of a team of two players, one male and one female, as opposed to a team of four of one gender.
Team USA has an interesting team as Matt and Becca Hamilton are a brother and sister duo. They have fared well early on, beating the Olympics Athletes from Russia (OAR) in the first-ever Olympic matchup in the event for the United States.
It can’t be easy breaking in a sport to the Olympics, but this event has been relatively popular early on — maybe it’s because it has been the one to kick off these Olympics.
The Hamiltons will get their first shot at Korea on Friday evening and it’ll be a late matchup for those watching stateside. If you’re a night owl, this is the perfect event for you.
