New Cleveland players are honoring Kobe with their jersey numbers, because Mamba fans on the Cavs worked out so well last time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers basically traded away their entire team to form a new one on Thursday. The goal as everybody knows is to win a title and dethrone the Golden State Warriors. Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. are two of their new additions, and it sounds like they’re bringing the “mamba mentality” with them.
We all saw Kobe had both of his jersey numbers retired by the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a very special night, Kobe’s final gift to the Lakers.
Now mamba mentality, or at least former Lakers wearing Kobe’s jersey numbers, are coming to Cleveland.
Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. are going to be wearing number eight and number 24 in Cleveland, allegedly in homage to Bryant.
This could work out pretty well. You bring in two guys that are going to embody everything that Bryant stood for, and it could become contagious for this “new” team. The Cavs are a team that gets out on the fast break pretty often, and Clarkson and Nance are pretty proficient on the break themselves. Obviously playing for the Lakers and the pace they run helped out a lot.

Kobe Bryant’s disciples on LeBron James’ team. This is everything you could have wanted and more. If the Cavs somehow manage to turn this train wreck around, and get to the Finals we would actually get something like Kobe-LeBron Finals were unjustly deprived of all those years ago.
If they do win the title then I guess you could say Kobe gets his sixth ring. Therefore making Kobe just as good as Michael Jordan. I don’t make the rules that’s just how it is.
