Everyone attempting to make the Great American Race should make it this year, as 40 cars are entered.
It’s not quite time to fire up the engines and start the new NASCAR season, but we’re getting ever so close. As evidence, the Daytona 500 entry list was released today, showing 40 cars ready to tackle the Super Bowl of stock car racing.
That number is significant because it’s exactly the number of entries in a “full” field. That’s good for NASCAR, since some races don’t fill up these days, and good for the entrants, because as it stands now, no one will be making the trip to Florida without making the show.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t a little bit of intrigue. The No. 23 BK Racing Toyota is on the list but has no driver or sponsor info. If anyone wants to enter or have their name on a car for the Daytona 500, that’s the team to call.
Jokes (and poor ones) aside, here’s who you can expect to see on the track on Sunday, Feb. 18.
