It only took Michy Batshuayi one game to become one of the most popular players in Germany. Dortmund signed Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was sold to Arsenal. Batshuayi scored twice in his debut, helping Dortmund defeat Koln 3-2. However, it is Batshuayi’s Twitter account and interactions with the fans and media that have made him popular. However, the club will have to keep picking up points if they want to qualify for Champions League next season. Only three points separate second-place Bayern Leverkusen and eighth-place Borussia Monchengladbach.
Hamburg are three points behind Werder Bremen for the final safety position in the Bundesliga. After four straight losses, Hamburg fired Markus Gisdol and replaced him with Bernd Hollerbach, who picked up two points in his first two games. However, the club is still looking for its first win since Nov. 26. If the Red Shorts are going to survive they will need to start winning games. Hamburg are tied for last in the Bundesliga, scoring only 17 goals in the first 22 games.
