Not to be confused with the short track 1500m, here’s how you can watch the women’s 1500m Olympic speedskating final online and by live stream.
The women’s 1500m Olympic speedskating final takes place on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. in South Korea, or 6 a.m. ET. During the two hour period, skaters will compete in qualification races before skating in the final as well. Medals for the women’s 1500m will be awarded during this period as well.
NBC begins their women’s speedskating broadcast at 5:30 a.m. ET, but the 1500m event is scheduled to start a half hour later at 6 a.m. You can stream the races through NBC and the NBC app, or services like FuboTV.
The Netherlands, a country that dominates at speedskating, is expected to place both silver and bronze in the women’s 1500-meter with Marrit Leeenstra and Ireen Wust. Gold, however, is expected to go to Miho Takagi of Japan, who appeared in her first Olympics at age 15 in Vancouver 2010.
Women’s speedskating happens almost every other day between Feb. 10 and Feb. 18, starting with the 3000m and ending with the 500m. Then the women compete in the team pursuit qualification (Feb. 19) and finals (Feb. 21) and the mass start on Feb. 24. (The speedskating mass start is a new Olympic event.) The 1500m falls on the second day of speed skating, and during the first weekend of the games.
(There’s also a women’s 1500m in the short track speed skating, which takes place Feb. 17 at 5 a.m.)
