The fields for both of the 60-lap races that will determine the starting order for the 60th running of the Daytona 500 are set.

Alex Bowman will start from the pole for the 2018 Daytona 500, with Denny Hamlin beside him. But until the Can-Am Duel races are run on Thursday evening, that’s all we know.

As is tradition, the 60-lap Can-Am Duel races will set the remainder of the starting grid for the Great American Race. On one hand, there will be less tension than usual, because with only 40 cars on the Daytona 500 entry list, no one will be sent home after the Duels.

Yet there are still plenty of unknowns out there, especially for teams that didn’t get to compete in the Clash in Daytona this past Sunday. New ride height rules, new restrictions on over-the-wall pit crew members and the general performance of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be just a few of the storylines worth watching during the two races.
