High winds have been throwing off the Alpine skiing calendar at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Here’s how to watch the men’s Alpine combined race.
The beauty of Alpine skiing is that the discipline encompasses a variety of skill sets in their various competitions. In every one of the events, time is of the essence. Heading into the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, the leaders in the FIS World Cup standings for the Alpine combined were largely speed specialists. Peter Fill of Italy tops the World Cup leaderboard, with Jansrud right behind.
A pair of Frenchmen, Alexis Pinturault and Victor Muffat-Jeandet, will challenge Jansrud and Fill for the title. The beauty of the Alpine combined, though, is that it often provides a surprise or two as well. Villetta was an unexpected champion, and we could see another out-of-left-field star emerge in this unique test of all-around skill.
