Figure skating in the 2018 Winter Olympics continues. Here’s what you need to know to watch the pairs’ short program on TV and online.
Now that the team figure skating portion of the 2018 Winter Olympics has concluded, it’s time to move on to the individual competitions and kicking things off is the pairs short program.
Team USA has been well represented by its only pairs team. Married couple Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim have had a fantastic showing so far at the Olympics, with strong 4th place showings in both the pairs team short program and pairs free skate. Combined with the other team events, the United States earned a bronze medal in the event.
With a medal in hand, the Knierim team will move on to the individual portion of the competition with the pairs short program.
Overall, there will be 22 pairs short programs performed in the event, with Team Knierim skating in the middle of the pack in the No. 13 spot. Following their performance will be two of the three Olympic Athletes from Russia teams also competing. With many countries sporting multiple pairs teams, Alexa and Chris will be forced to bring their A-game to the short program to ensure that they make it to the podium after the pairs free skate. With so many teams to face, including the teams who had better showings in the team events, there is no room for error.

Figure skating continues in prime time on February 14 as the pairs free skate determines the medal winner for the event. Once again the Knierims will represent Team USA in the pairs free skate.
