Olympics Luge Women’s Final medal results, highlights and more

Germany picked up two more medals. Here are all the full official results from the women’s luge at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Heading into the final two runs of the women’s singles luge event at the 2018 Winter Olympics, Germany was threatening a clean sweep of the podium. Canadian Alex Gough was able to hang onto third place to win bronze, but Germans Natalie Geisenberger and Dajana Eitberger won gold and silver respectively.
American Erin Hamlin entered the final two runs sitting in fifth place with a chance to medal, but she was passed by Canada’s Kimberley Mcrae and finished in sixth. Summer Britcher dropped from 15th to finish 19th overall, and Emily Sweeney scored a DNF after a crash.
Sweeney was able to get to her feet and smiled as ashe walked off the track.
The gold medal is Germany’s fifth, the most in the 2018 Winter Games. Overall Germany now has nine medals, behind Norway (11), the Netherlands (10) and Canada (10).
