The 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic games are in full swing and the men are ready to throw down in the Snowboarding Halfpipe Finals.
Snowboarding has been one of the most popular sports at the Winter Olympics since its first appearance back in 1998 at the Nagano Olympics. Since then, both the men and the women have pushed the limits of gravity to soar high above the halfpipe. In the short history of men’s snowboarding, the U.S team has been a staple at the top of the podium. They look to continue this dominance in Pyeongchang on Tuesday night.
Team USA’s halfpipe team consists of Ben Ferguson, Jake Pates, Chase Josey, and Shaun White and the squad will be ready to uphold the honored tradition of United States dominance in the halfpipe finals. Winning gold in three of the last four Olympiads, the United States team is looking to bounce back from the 2014 Olympics in Sochi where they were shut out of the podium.
Shaun White is looking to make his fourth straight Olympic appearance. White won gold in 2006 and 2010. He will be looking to make his way back to the top and put the United States back on the podium in men’s snowboarding halfpipe.
Accompanying White in the halfpipe are three Olympic rookies who will be trying to make a name for themselves while battling it out for a medal in Pyeongchang.
