Shockingly, the Netherlands is not expected to place in the women’s 1000m — if you’ve been paying attention to speedskating odds, you know the Dutch are crazy dominant on the speedskating track. Japan’s Nao Kodaira is the gold medal favorite, with compatriot Miho Takagi expected to snag silver. American Hearth Bergsma is the Sports Illustrated pick for bronze, one of the few predicted podium spots for Team USA.

(Fun fact: Bergsma is married to Jorrit Bergsma, a Dutchman expected to win silver in the 10,000-meter. They have combined for 23 world medals. It always comes back to the Netherlands in speedskating.)
