The Washington Redskins made one of the biggest moves of the offseason so far a few weeks back, as they traded for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith. The addition of Smith likely means the end of the line for Kirk Cousins in Washington, although there have been grumblings about him possibly being franchise tagged again. While that is not likely to happen, you never know with Dan Snyder, who has proven to be quite erratic during his time as team owner.

Adding Smith instantly makes this offense a better unit, as he has proven to be one of the better regular season quarterbacks in the league in recent seasons. On the defensive side of the ball, the Redskins need upgrades in many spots, especially upgrading their linebacking group. At 6’5’’ and 250 pounds, Tremaine Edmunds is a freight train in cleats, and is going to be a special player at the next level.

Edmunds is only 19-years old, and has a lot to learn about the game. Still, some scouts figure him to be the best overall linebacker in this draft class, and he is already an elite pass rusher. Washington has enough talent to be a playoff contender this season, and with Smith running the offense, at least they know they are going to cut down on the turnovers.
