Yun Sung-Bin sits in first after two runs in the men’s skeleton heading into the final runs at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

After two runs, Korea has a hometown hero sitting in the driver’s seat to win gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Yun Sung-Bin had two tremendous runs to finish atop the standings heading into the final two runs on Thursday, including a track record in both runs.

It’s a monumental moment for Sing-Bin and South Korea, the country has never won a medal in any sliding sport (luge, skeleton and bobsled).

Team USA didn’t fare well in the first two runs and would need a small miracle and some fast runs to get onto the podium. Matt Antoine finished in 11th and John Daly (not the golfer) just behind him in 13th, roughly two seconds out of first. Antoine won bronze at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Germany, a country which dominated the luge winning half of the medals, isn’t in position to medal after two runs. Germany has three riders in the top 10, the highest sitting in sixth.
