Olympics Men’s Snowboard Cross Race live stream, start time, TV channel
By Staff
Here is everything you need to know to watch the men’s snowboard cross race at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
The men’s snowboard cross is handing out medals on Wednesday night. The seeding runs begin at 9 p.m. ET and at 11:30 p.m. ET the final runs begin.
Team USA is sending four men to compete in the snowboard cross: Jonathan Cheever, Nick Baumgartner, Mick Dierdorff and Hagen Kearney. The men’s team doesn’t inspire the same confidence as the women’s team.
Cheever qualified while the other three competitors were discretionary picks and Cheever is a plumber by day. Still, Cheever is optimistic he can contend for gold in Pyeongchang and is ranked seventh in the world after two World Cup competitions.
For the men, riders will take individual runs through the course and the top times will determine the seeding for the elimination heats.
Unlike the parallel giant slalom, six snowboarders race down a hill at a time in the elimination heats and the top three finishers advance to the next round. There are three rounds before a medalist is crowned.
The event will stream live online at NBC Sports Live and Fubo.TV. NBC’s primetime coverage will begin at 9 p.m. ET and consist of snowboard cross as well as skeleton.
