Here’s how you can watch the Olympic men’s hockey round robin game between Switzerland and Canada online and by live stream.
As a two-time Olympic gold medalist in men’s hockey, Team Canada has a lot of pressure coming into Pyeongchang. And after seeing USA and the Olympic Athletes from Russia lose to Slovenia and Slovakia respectively, it should know how wide open this tournament is and that no opponent is to be taken lightly.
Switzerland has given Canada some trouble in past Olympics, when NHL players were competing. Without that luxury, the gap between the two countries is a lot less. And in Jonas Hiller, Switzerland has a goalie that can take his country on a deep run. Canada’s forward group consists of veteran journeymen such as Chris Kelly, Mason Raymond, Rene Bourque, Derek Roy and Linden Vey, but its blueline is a definite weak spot that its opponent will look to exploit.
The Switzerland-Canada game takes place at 7:10 a.m ET. The early morning time slot isn’t ideal, especially for everyone on the West Coast, but it’s not something Canadian fans aren’t used to. They had to wake up at 7 for the 2014 Gold Medal Game, while many of the women’s hockey games have occurred in the early morning. And if there’s anything Canadians will get up early for, it’s hockey.
