Here’s how you can watch the women’s 5000m speedskating final online or by live stream.
The 5000-meter is the longest race in women’s speedskating and the medal final will take place on Friday morning, Feb. 16 at 6 a.m. ET. The medals will be symbolically awarded after the event with stuffed tigers and later in a medal ceremony off-site.
Shockingly, the Netherlands have no favorites in this race, though that’s not to say the world leaders in long-track speedskating won’t sneak someone onto the podium. Currently, the favorites are Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic for gold, Natalia Voronina representing Olympic Athletes from Russia and Claudia Pechstein of Germany.
NBC will provide a live stream for the race through their online portal, NBC Olympics, and air the race on TV whenever they deem appropriate. (The NBC TV listings, which include coverage on three additional networks — NBCSN, CNBC, and USA — have already shown themselves to make very little sense. However, you’re welcome to navigate those waters through NBC TV channel streams or through providers like FuboTV.)

The 5000-meters is the longest race the women skate in Olympic speedskating. The other races are 3,000-meters, 1,500-meters, 1,000-meters and 500-meters. Team USA has its best shot at a medal in the form of Heather Bergsma, who races the 1,000-meter and is, incidentally, married to Dutch Olympic speedskater and medal-hopeful Jorrit Bergsma. (Together, they have 23 world medals.)
