Olympics Luge Team Relay Final medal results: Germany wins again

Germany wraps up luge event winning three out of four gold medals, and half of all medals with another gold in Team Relay at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
It’s official, Germany owns the luge event at the Winter Olympics and Austria is their only real competitor. After four events, Germany is walking away with six of the 12 medals awarded in luge, including three out of four gold medals.
Seriously, does it get more dominant than that? In the women’s singes and doubles luge, Germany walked away with two medals in each event.
Germany has 15 medals in the Winter Olympics so far, and over a third of them have come from luge.
Luge medal breakdown by country:
- Germany, 6 total- 3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze
- Austria, 3 total – 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze
- Canada, 2 total – 1 silver, 1 bronze
- USA, 1 total – 1 silver
Chris Mazdzer made history by becoming the first American to win a medal in men’s singles luge. He was apart of the USA’s relay team and they finished in fourth, just out of a spot on the podium.
