In a video with Kevin Durant and Cari Champion, LeBron James decided to take some hard shots at President Trump and his supporters.
To help get ready for All-Star Weekend, and to celebrate the rare occasion of them being teammates, LeBron James and Kevin Durant recorded a video together. They were accompanied by Cari Champion of ESPN, and did it as a collaboration between Uber and Uninterrupted.
The video is over 16 minutes long, and they cover a lot of topics, but the most notable one was about Donald Trump and his supporters. While you can watch it for yourself, SI picked out some of the most noteworthy quotes:
LeBron relayed a story about how someone spray painted the n-word on the gate of his Brentwood home. He went on to say “No matter how far, money, or access, or how you become in life as an African-American man, female—they will always try to figure out a way to let you know that you still beneath them.” But instead of letting them win, he decided to paint over the gate and “make it taller.”
All of this was a roundabout way for LeBron to say Trump doesn’t “give a f—” about those people. And when talking about Trump, he said “It’s not even a surprise when he says something [racist].”
In response to the video, Fox News’ Laura Ingraham dedicated a whole segment to LeBron and told him to “shut up and dribble.”

However, this is hardly the only time James has been outspoken against the current administration. After Trump’s response to the Charlottesville incident, he took a shot at the President and said “our youth deserves better.” Then, of course, there was his famous “U bum” tweet after Trump disinvited Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors to the White House.

Given how active James is on social media, don’t expect this to be the last time he talks politics, despite what Ingraham says. It might only be a matter of time before he responds to her directly.
