Olympic curling is rolling along with the fifth round of the women’s tournament on Friday evening stateside between USA and Russia.

If you haven’t been paying close attention to Olympic curling thus far, you’re missing out. You have a chance to check in with Team USA women’s curling on Friday evening here stateside as they match up with the Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR).

The Olympics are now in the first full week of action after getting started last week with the first-ever edition of mixed doubles curling on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Team USA didn’t medal in that event, but Becca Hamilton is hungry to lead the women to victory.

In case you’re wondering, Team USA women have never in Olympic history won a medal. Could that change this year? It’s possible, but they didn’t get off to a good start against Japan in session 1 of the round robin, losing 10-5.

The women rebounded to take a session 2 victory over Great Britain to improve to 1-1 on Wednesday night stateside. There’s still plenty of time to stay near the top of the standings before the final round robin matchup on Feb. 21.

All of the Olympic curling matches in the second session take place simultaneously, and it will be up to NBC’s editors to decide how much of each match is shown. That said, cord-cutters have the advantage as every game has its own unique live stream.
