Olympic curling is rolling along with the sixth round of the women’s tournament on Saturday morning stateside between USA and Canada.
With all the Olympic events to choose from, people have been flocking toward curling lately. It’s been one of the most popular events at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and now that mixed doubles is over with — a new event in these games — it’s time to focus on the men’s and women’s round robin play.
To no one’s surprise, Canada won mixed doubles, taking home gold while Switzerland won silver and the Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) received bronze.
Team USA struggled in mixed doubles, but the women’s curling team is looking to make up for that and bring home the first medal in its history. In fact, dating back to 1998, Team USA has never medaled in women’s Olympic curling.
That could change this year if they’re able to overcome some of the world’s biggest powerhouses, starting with Canada. The Canadians won’t be an easy matchup for the Americans on Saturday morning in the sixth session of the round robin. If Team USA can win, that would go a long way in building confidence before the round robin ends on Feb. 21.

All of the Olympic curling matches in the second session take place simultaneously, and it will be up to NBC’s editors to decide how much of each match is shown. That said, cord-cutters have the advantage as every game has its own unique live stream.
