Olympic Ice Hockey is providing great drama. Between young stars showing they abilities to comebacks victories, there has been plenty of action to capture our attention. The action continues in Group play as team push to make the quarterfinals. When South Korea takes the ice against Switzerland, one team could be on the verge of elimination.
Both South Korea and Switzerland fell in their opening games, but in very different ways. Switzerland looked out-of-place on the ice and was blitzed by Canada. There was never a moment when Switzerland appeared to be in control, and ultimately fell 5-1. As for South Korea, they showed well in their first every Olympic Ice Hockey game. Their assignment was against medal favorite Czech Republic, and the host team struck first. However, the Czechs rallied to tie and win the game, 2-1.
Neither South Korea or Switzerland boast points in the standings, making this match important to either team. With only eight teams moving onto the quarterfinals, the losing team in this game will be on the edge of elimination. With Canada and the Czechs in this group, a comeback from the bottom of the standings is unlikely.
