Here’s how you can watch the NBA’s 2018 State Farm All-Star Saturday Night at LA’s STAPLES Center online.
The NBA’s 2018 State Farm All-Star Saturday Night featuring the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, JBL Three-Point Contest, and Verizon Slam Dunk Contest takes place on Saturday, February 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT. You can catch the action live right on your laptop at TNTDrama.com’s Watch TNT. An audio stream is also available on ESPN Radio.
The Taco Bell Skills Challenge will be the first event of the night and feature Joel Embiid [76ers], Al Horford [Celtics], Andre Drummond [Pistons], Lou Williams [Clippers], Buddy Hield [Kings], Lauri Markkanen [Bulls], Spencer Dinwiddie [Nets], and Jamal Murray [Nuggets]. Defending Skills Challenge Champion Kristaps Porziņģis was originally slated for the competition but will be unable to compete due to injury.
The JBL 3-Point Contest will be the second event of night and feature Eric Gordon [Rockets], Klay Thompson [Warriors], Paul George [Thunder], Devin Booker [Suns], Bradley Beal [Wizards], Kyle Lowry [Raptors], Tobias Harris [Clippers], and Wayne Ellington [Heat]. Gordon is last year’s winner and Thompson won 2016’s Three-Point contest.
The 2018 Verizon Slam Dunk Contest will be the main event of the NBA’s 2018 State Farm All-Star Saturday Night. It will feature Victor Oladipo [Pacers], Donovan Mitchell [Jazz], Larry Nance, Jr. [Cavaliers], and Dennis Smith Jr. [Mavericks]. Last year’s Slam Dunk champion Glenn Robinson III is currently recovering from an ankle injury and working his way back to the court on the Indiana Pacers’ G-League affiliate.
Robinson III will not be competing in the Slam Dunk Contest due to the injury but hopes to return to the Pacers after the All-Star break. The Orlando Magic’s Aaron Gordon was also slated to compete but withdrew due to a recent right hip flexor injury.
When you think about the Slam Dunk Contest, you simply have to go back to the one that made Vince Carter immortal. Carter’s performance in the 2000 competition has overshadowed every Slam Dunk Contest ever since. Eighteen years later, the dunks are just as impressive as ever. Forever a tough act to follow, Oladipo, Mitchell, Nance, Jr., and Smith Jr. have their work cut out for them.
18 years ago to the day, Vince Carter became Half Man, Half Amazing by dominating the 2000 #NBAAllStar Dunk Contest. Thanks for the memories @mrvincecarter15 pic.twitter.com/RtVgsNuPlO
