Michael B. Jordan

Michael B.Jordan already has an enviable resume. He was Wallace in The Wire. He has experience playing both heroes (Adonis Creed in Creed) and villains (Killgrave in Marvel’s Black Panther). Both of these commitments have required him to undergo extensive training.

Even more importantly, he’s got a certain magnetism. The best Bond villains have an ability to command attention.

Ian Mcshane

Ian Mcshane is an all time great character actor. His voice is awash with mischief and delight. His smile makes you want to trust him, and when he looks at the camera sternly, you know that a reckonings coming.  If I am willing to believe him as the conman version of Odin on Starz’s American Gods, than I can definitely believe him as a Bond villain.

Min-Sik Choi (Oldboy)

The most recent Bond films have benefited from casting talented actors who weren’t born in England or America. Mads Mikkelson as La Chiffre. Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva. Christoph Waltz as Ernest Blofeld. Maybe it’s time to migrate that idea from a new source.

Min-Sik Choi has been referred to by comingsoon.net as the South Korean Robert DeNiro. In both Oldboy and Sympathy for Lady Vengence, he galvanized with arresting passion. He also depicted the villain in the Scarlett Johansson vehicle Lucy. From all the onscreen evidence, he’d have no problem creating an intimidating new antagonist for MI6’s most famous spy.

Jessica Chastain

James Bond has had fewer villainesses than villains, but they do exist. Rosa Klebb. Elektra King. Maybe now is time for another villainess.

If so, Jessica Chastain is one of the two best I can think of. She has been nominated for two Oscars. She convincingly embodied intelligence and meticulous discipline in Zero Dark Thirty. Both traits that would make her an excellent criminal mastermind.

She also has a fierceness to her performance in Zero Dark that would allow her to hold her own with any Bond.
