Olympics live stream: Watch men’s speedskating 500m final online

Get ready for the men’s 500m speedskating final at the Pyeongchang 2019 Winter Olympics. Here’s how you can watch the medal race in live stream.

At the last Winter Games, in Sochi, the men ran the 500-meter race twice, with their winning score averaging out the score from the two races. This time, only one race will decide who will win the Olympic medal for the men’s 500-meter in speedskating.

The Dutch seem to know whatever you need to know to win this game. Two of the medalists from Sochi were Dutch: bronze winner Ronald Mulder and gold winner Michel Mulder. However, since Michel Mulder didn’t place high enough to go to the Olympics, there will be a new gold medalist. The people to watch? The Netherland’s Kai Jerbij who won the 1000-meter at the Calgary World Cup, and of course, last year’s silver medalist Jan Smeekens who slid into second place because of a faulty leg responder.

This game is for the early birds in the United States and will be airing at 6 a.m. ET, making it prime time for South Koreans, as it’s at 8 p.m. Korea Time. The people who win will be given symbolic stuffed animals after the races and a proper medal ceremony soon after.

NBC is the official broadcaster of the Winter Olympics and they’re using a very loose definition of the word “live” when it comes to TV. That means: set an alarm for 5:30 and have an online stream ready if you want to watch it in real time.
