If you missed the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, you can catch up with this review of the best dunks of the night.

In the main event of NBA All-Star Saturday night, four of the best young high flyers in the Association competed in the 33rd installment of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. That list of dunkers included: Cavs forward Larry Nance Jr, Pacers guard Victor Oladipo, Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Mavericks guard Dennis Smith Jr. While all those competitors had some great dunks, Mitchell ended up as the winner of this event

Although one player ended up as the Slam Dunk Contest champion, it doesn’t mean that he had the best dunks of that competition. For example, Zach LaVine won the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest even though Aaron Gordon had some of the best dunks in the history of the competition.

They might not have carried everyone to victory, but here are the best dunks from this year’s competition.

5. Larry Nance Jr. rock the cradle slamT

Thirty-four years after his father won the initial NBA Slam Dunk Contest back in 1984, Cavs forward Larry Nance Jr redid his dad’s most famous slam. Although the origin of that slam is more than 30 years old, there’s still a certain coolness factor behind it that you don’t really see with most other types of dunks. Maybe it’s the way how Nance just casually cradles the ball in the eye before slamming it down at a difficult angle. Although this dunk only got a 44 from the judges, I still think it was one of the best dunks of the night.
