3. Brent Grimes

The Giants have big money invested in Janoris Jenkins, who has played extremely well in New York. Jenkins is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, but the Giants could release Rodgers-Cromartie and Eli Apple had a disastrous season in 2017.

New York also could lose Ross Cockrell, whose contract is expiring. The Giants should consider adding another cornerback on the second day of the draft, but could also bring an accomplished veteran like Grimes at a reasonable rate.

At 34-years-old, Grimes isn’t what he used to be, but Tampa Bay rushed the passer very poorly last year. He is best in zone coverage and breaks on the ball very well still at his age. Grimes also has very good ball skills and ability to play bigger than his frame would indicate.
