Updated Olympic’s women’s hockey bracket
After the Olympics women’s hockey semifinals, here’s an updated bracket
The Olympics women’s hockey tournament is almost done. All that’s left in the medal round are the two games that matter. The gold medal game and the bronze medal game. Here’s who will be playing in each game.
In the gold medal game, it should shock no one that Team USA and Canada will be facing for the fifth time in six Olympics. This has been the gold medal matchup in every Olympics since women’s hockey was added in 1998, excluding 2006.
Canada beat Team USA 2-1 in the preliminary round. However, America dominated for most of the game and Canada got an outstanding performance from their goalie. So an upset is quite plausible. Especially since Team USA has gotten the best of Canada in recent world championships. Their game will be on Feb. 22.
It’s pretty amazing how much better than everyone else Team USA and Canada are. They have perhaps the best rivalry in sports. Every single one of their games is must-watch television and the endings are usually epic. While both teams can’t stand the other, you can also tell they have a ton of respect for each other. And that’s what rivalries are all about.
In the bronze medal game, the Olympic Athletes of Russia will face Finland. The latter will be trying to win their third bronze medal and their first since 2010. Meanwhile, the Olympic Athletes of Russia, while not technically a Russia women’s hockey team, will be trying to win their country’s first bronze medal in women’s hockey.
Next: Best Olympian from each state
Finland got to the bronze medal game by losing 5-0 to Team USA. Meanwhile, the Olympic Athletes from Russia got to the bronze medal game by losing 5-0 to Canada. Their game will be held on Feb. 21 and it should be a very exciting one.
