Round 3 – Pick 75

Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

Oakland was able to pry Marshawn Lynch out of retirement to play for his home town team. There was some gas left in the tank but his best days are clearly behind him. His future with the team, and in the NFL is up in the air entering this offseason. A strong running back class allows Oakland to wait until round three to grab their guy. They still get one of college football’s most productive and exciting running backs in Georgia’s Nick Chubb.

Chubb has fallen behind his teammate Sony Michel in rankings. Do not let that take away from the fact that this is one of the better running backs in college football, who is also a freak athlete. The scary knee injury may spook some teams, but he can squash those concerns with a solid combine at the end of the month. Based off of his high school accomplishments, he may shock some with his performance in Indianapolis.

At Georgia he was the more productive of the two and played in every season he was eligible, including an All-Freshman campaign his first year on campus. The best part about him returning to Athens for the 2017 season was seeing that he is closer to the pre-injury player than the team could have hoped. He possesses solid vision and burst. Where Chubb really stands out is his ability to find quick cuts and attack gaps at the line of scrimmage. His excellent lower body strength and center of gravity make it look easy running through arm tackles, even against elite competition like Alabama.
