DAVIE, FL - JULY 27: Jonathan Martin

Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin has been taken into custody by officials after threatening harm with guns on his Instagram page.

After playing in the NFL for three seasons and then retiring in the summer of 2015, it appears Jonathan Martin’s story might be forgotten. After Friday’s events, that is not going to be the case.

Martin posted threatening pictures on his Instagram story, showing a shotgun and ammunition with the caption “When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your option are suicide, or revenge.” Shortly thereafter, Martin’s former high school, Harvard-Westlake High School in Los Angeles, was shut down after the threat.

In the photo, some of the handles belong to Mike Pouncey (Dolphins current center), Richie Incognito (former Dolphins and current Buffalo Bills guard), along with a direct tag of Harvard-Westlake.

Martin, 28, famously accused former Dolphins and current Buffalo Bills guard Richie Incognito of bullying him on the topics of sexuality and race, something that prompted the Wells Report.

The former Stanford product was drafted by the Dolphins in the second round of the 2012 draft, but struggled with both on and off-field problems throughout his short tenure. He was ultimately traded to the San Francisco 49ers and played one year there before retiring as a member of the Carolina Panthers in the summer of 2015 due to a back injury. Martin never played a down with the Panthers.

It’s not known what the legal ramifications are going to be on Martin yet. This comes in the wake of a horrific school shooting only days ago at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
